Legalization in layman language means confirming the authenticity of the documents with a stamp or seal from the higher authorities of any country. Legalization is often required in case of Import or Exports of goods, applying for study or job in foreign countries, etc. The process helps in authenticating the legal documents issued.

Legalization involves various process depending upon the document to be attested and from where the document is issued, if the country from which the document is issues is not a part of Hague Convention, then a formal process is required, else the document passes through by a public notary and issued authority of the country as a proof of issue presented by official and later it is presented to the destined country’s embassy pr consulate. If the document is legalize from Embassy then authentication is required from MEA in New Delhi along with respective embassy. It is mandatory for the document to be available in English Documentation.
